~ Time to Play...Cards! ~

Hi Everyone, it's Christine @ Crafting Family! So our DT Kimberly Fordyce is on vacation...so that means I get to play! Woohoo! I have a couple of cards I finished at my last crop that I get to share with you today ;)

"Happy Birthday" card for my nana's 76th Bday ;)

For this card, I have no idea where the patterned papers were from...the cardstock is from Colorbok and We R Memory Keepers.  I picked these peachy pastel colors because they are my nana's favorite colors!  The Happy Birthday rub on is from American Crafts, and the fabric brad is handmade using the I-Top Brad maker.  The ribbon petals is also a handmade creation by my mom using wired ribbon scrunched.  I stitched the card pieces of the card using our sewing machine and the large loop punch is from EK Success as well as the punch to make the title tag piece.  The bling is from the $1 bin at Michaels and that does it for my list of supplies ;)

 "Happy Law School Graduation"

My bosses' daughter recently graduated from law school in St. Louis and the brunch celebration was yesterday at Park Tavern in Delray Beach, FL.  The food was tasty and the company was grand ;) The toast speech made me a little teary eyed! Darn those emotions! And so I used the My Mind's Eye Navy Lush papers we have for sale on our Ebay Page HERE, as well as American Crafts cardstock and the pearl cardstock for the flower petals is from DCWV. The pearl brad is from the BRIDE section at Michaels, and the punch used to make the petals is from EK Success as well as the fancy lacy punch. The ribbon is from Michaels and the navy blue cardstock used to frame the Lush papers is from Recollections.  The layout for this card was inspired by this month's issue of Papercrafts Magazine.

Inside this card, I put a picture of her day at graduation with a handwritten title "congrats" in gold using my Sakura gel pen.

So now that I've played, it's time to get back to work! lol

Happy Monday and stay scrappin' my friends!

Happy Sunday! It's Ashley here to share my project for this week.

Thanks From Jessie

Hi Everyone! It's DT Jessie from Edogg Sugarlips and Princess Buttercup.  I am so happy to be coming to you today from the Crafting Family blog. I just want to say I love being on this team, everyone is so nice and the site has so many fabulous finds :)  Anyway, onto my project.

I wanted to do something that reminded me of Memorial Day. So I made this card. I think I am going to send it to my cousin who was recently deployed.

I used some blue cardstock from CF, and then the cool paper is from My Mind's Eye American Made collection. The paper is called Stars of Loyalty.  I love it. I used both sides of it.  The yellow and white were just scraps from my bin. Some embroidery floss and a star button. The awareness ribbon was a cut from My Scrap Chick and the Thanks is from a K Andrew Designs stamp set called winter wishes.  Just added a little dashing and it was done.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you stop by tomorrow for another fabulous project from a talented DT member :)

~ New Sunday DT: Ashley Hamm~

Please help me welcome our new Sunday DT:

ASHLEY HAMM

"I'm a 27 year old registered nurse in a medium security prison living on the corner of a busy downtown intersection with my amazing attorney boyfriend & our adopted black Lab, Bentley. I love scrapbooking, Gary Allan, reading, & running."

Get to know more about Ashley and her crafty side of life:

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I started scrapbooking when I was 16 years old. I've always been sort of sentimental, hanging onto ticket stubs/brochures/letters from boyfriends/etc & I have always been the one amongst my friends who has the camera out. Scrapbooking just sort of put a name to what I'd been doing all along.

2. What type of project is your favorite to make (i.e. cards, layouts, mini album, etc.) ?
Layouts, but I am trying to do more cards.

3. Do you have a favorite product you like to use on your projects?
I don't think I have a favorite product. I like to use clusters of embellishments & I'm starting to use my Cricut & my stamps more & more. My process is to drag everything out that might work with the layout, & then I choose from there.

4. Who is your favorite manufacturer (i.e. BoBunny, MME, Pink Paislee)?
One of my favorites is Pink Paislee & I also love American Crafts.

5. Do you have a scrapbook/paper crafting idol? If so, who and why?
There's so much inspiration out there! As a younger scrapper with no kids, I really love Kelly Purkey's work, I think Stephanie Howell's journaling is so heartfelt, & I have been a fan of Shannon Tidwell's design since I first started scrapbooking.

6. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not scrapbooking/paper crafting?
I love to read so if I have some quiet time I grab a book. Right now I'm working through the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It is hilarious! In the evenings we take the dog for a jog or work on one of the many projects we've got going on around the home.

7. Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?
My boyfriend is an attorney & his practice is on a busy downtown intersection on a 100+ year old building. We live in an apartment above with our adopted black Lab, Bentley. I've been a registered nurse for five years & I've worked at a nearby prison for three years. We also volunteer for our local humane society & Love of Labs (lolin.org).

Her debut project for Crafting Family, this rockin' pink layout using our MME Lush Pink papers:

Supplies used:

Papers: My Mind's Eye Lush
Stamps: {Ippity} A Moment in Time, Unity August 2010 kit AllYouNeed,
& Papertrey Ink faux ribbon stamps.
Tulip: Cricut cartridge Walk in my Garden
