Hi Everyone!

We hope you all have had an awesome month! We have been busy reviewing submissions for our new Design Team term and ordering lots of new goodies for our online store - woohoo! We still have one more spot open to fill for the DT, so it's not too late to send in your submission!  Here is the info you need to know!

Details for submission are as follows (USA & International applicants are welcome):

   -  Email us the link to your blog/Facebook Page where your work is posted or send us 3 to 5 pictures of your work (can be cards, layouts or altered art) at: thecraftingfamily@yahoo.com
   -  With a paragraph about yourself and your crafty life :)
   -  With a profile picture of yourself (can be in color or black & white)
   -  Deadline for submission is Wed. May 2, 2012 @ midnight (Eastern Time)

Design Team requirements:

   -  Ability to post a picture (via email or Facebook Group discussion page) of any project you are working on once a week using any supplies you have along with a list of supplies used (optional is a blurb telling us a little something more about your project).  Your awesome work will be highlighted on our Facebook page and blog. We understand life happens and it’s always crazy busy, so if posting a project that week is impossible for whatever reason (including vacations), just let us know as soon as possible so we can fill in a project on your posting day! It’s that easy!
   -  Ability to join in our monthly sketch challenge (you will have a whole month to work on a layout you interpret from a sketch we provide or that you’ve suggested for the team). If sketches aren’t your strength…all you can do is keep trying right? Never too old to learn new crafty things :)
   -  Ability to promote Crafting Family and our awesomely affordable supplies through your Facebook, blog, email contacts, Pinterest, etc. and participate in our monthly blog hops. (If you don’t know what a blog hop is, no worries – we gotcha covered as long as you are willing to learn :)'

What’s in it for you?

   -  NO PURCHASE EVER NECESSARY OR REQUIRED FROM YOU
   -  A welcome package of paper goodies to start playing with at no cost to you!
   -  Random packages of paper goodies to play with, generally when we order new goodies
   -  A HUGE discount on the scrapbooking supplies we offer or that we can specially order for you at your request (Discount is 50% off of retail or our cost if cheaper!)
   -  For non-local (Palm Beach County) DT members, a shipping discount of $5.00 redeemable once per month.  Shipping discount for international DT’s is $7.00 per month.
   -  Ability to commit to a 3 month term (when term is over, and you still want to continue having crafty fun, then your DT spot is automatically renewed for next term)
  -  Flexibility to be a part of your other Design Teams! We need no exclusivity – except for the projects you submit to us. Our motto: The more crafty people you know, the more exposure for everyone!
  -  Our undying gratitude for your talent and support!
  -  The chance to meet new crafty people that just might become your greatest friends and will always be your BIGGEST FANS!

Thanks again for your support!  'Til the next post, I remain - Christine @ Crafting Family

~Design Team Call!~

We hope you all had a Happy Easter and Passover!

We have some exciting news, we are on the lookout for a few more Design Team members for Crafting Family! If you are interested or know of a crafty someone who might be, please spread the word! For more details, please email us at: thecraftingfamily@yahoo.com

I you leave with a little project for this week:
'What's Up' card made by Christine using the Basic Grey Wisteria card kit for my lovely co-worker's 8th Anniversary with our law firm. Inside it says: "You're 8th Anniversary, Thats What!". I substituted the white letters in the kit for purple ones and added a sticker & buttons from the coordinating accessories from the Wisteria collection.

These cards kits are great for when you are "on the go", but still want a touch of 'handmade' for your card. And there is nothing like BASIC GREY to show how much you care! (At least in my world, lol)
Hope you guys are having a great week and Happy Scrappin'! ;) Christine

Introducing the Newest addition to the team!

Good morning to all our crafty friends! Sorry for the lack of posting here on the blog, but we have all been dealing with illnesses and been busy with work and family stuff...but we are getting back on track and working on stuff for the blog, facebook page and store.

But today, we would like to introduce you to Lorena, she is the newest member of our Crafting Family Design Team.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
Since I can remember, I started early by always collecting things that reminded me of an event I wanted to remember forever. Like my 8th grade prom invention, all my great achievement diplomas, movie tickets, (which I still do) notes, cards, drawings etc... Back then, I only had these great ideas of what I was going to do with them all! As I grew older I started collecting more and more, then I came to find out about something called "scrapbooking", little did I know that this whole time I was mentally doing scrapbooking in my head!! Lol Now I had the opportunity to put it all on real paper!! And from then on, I became addicted!

2. What type of project is your favorite to make (i.e. cards, layouts, mini album, etc.) ?
Layouts and shadow boxes!!

3. Do you have a favorite product you like to use on your projects?
Flowers! Flowers! Embossing, And 3D Pop Up's

4. Who is your favorite manufacturer (i.e. BoBunny, MME, Pink Paislee) ?
Basic grey sticks out, but I'm more into style -- anything vintage, old school, the sophisticated look, I'm in love!

5. Do you have a scrapbook/paper crafting idol? If so, who and why?
Not really... Besides My scrap girls in Florida I admire dearly!!

6. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not scrapbooking/paper crafting?
Nowadays, it seems I'm spending a lot of time online searching for recipes. Since I moved across the country, I happen to be in need of this thing called "cooking"!! :)

7. Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?
I've recently moved to Yuma, Arizona a month ago because I was blessed with an amazing career opportunity that I could not turn down. Though I am on my own, in a place I'm not familiar with and have no family or friends here, I am excited to be able to spend more time in my "scrapbooking room" I finally got!!! Therefore, I'm truly happy to join the team as it will hopefully keep me busy...and it's a great excuse to keep shopping!!!

And here is some of her beautiful work.

Lorena doesn't have a blog, so be sure to stop by the Facebook page to welcome her.

Hope everyone had a happy crafty weekend!

Today we would like to introduce you to Linda, one of our newest Design Team members.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I started scrapbooking in 2007 when I was a stay-at-home mom with my first child and my husband was stationed in South Korea. I started collecting my first child baby pictures and created a super simple mini album. It was so much fun and I got hooked into papercrafting ever since.

I love creating mini album, but lately I am into making cards too, especially now that Christmas is coming soon.

3. Do you have a favorite product you like to use on your projects?
Since I love bold colors, I like to use acrylic paint and ink on my projects. They are super fun and you never know what color combination you may end up with at the end of your project.

4. Who is your favorite manufacturer (i.e. BoBunny, MME, Pink Paislee) ?
I love them all!! lol.... I really like Momenta, Pink Paislee, and Unity stamps.

5. Do you have a scrapbook/paper crafting idol? If so, who and why?
I like Donna Downey. She is a fun lady and super creative.

6. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not scrapbooking/paper crafting?
Since I am a Nurse Educator, during my spare time, I like to read Nursing Journal to provide current updates for my nurses and patients in term of medications and other new treatments.

7. Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?
I love to create personal journal. It's not a matter of design, but it is what I feel like creating at that time. I just go with the flow....

Here are a few things you will find on Linda's blog.
